The EZ-Plate Systems restrictor plate lives up to it's name; it's EZ! Engineered and built in the U.S.A. with the Index, Open Comp, and Super class racer in mind, it's a truly revolutionary update to a proven restrictor plate design. Using the patented* EZ-Plate System, drag racers now have a quick, accurate, and repeatable way to adjust your elapsed time to any number slower than your quickest, unrestricted pass, with no need to remove the carburetor to change plates! Removal of the carb is only necessary when first installing the system, and is no different than installing a standard open spacer. After that, changing your E.T. is as simple as sliding in a different restrictor plate!

The EZ-Plate system utilizes an open spacer design, specially machined to accept precisely engineered slide-in restrictor plates with various sized holes to slow your vehicle and run your desired index class elapsed time. It works equally well in both quarter-mile and 1/8-mile racing, allowing you to make small or large changes to your E.T. in just a few seconds.
Through rigorous on-track testing, EZ-Plate Systems has established the restrictor plate hole sizes necessary for incremental adjustments to your E.T. based on your individual application. Whether you're dialing down your 7.0 race vehicle to run a much slower 10.90, or your 12.50 vehicle to run a slightly slower 12.60, or any range between, we have a set of restrictor plates that will help you reach your performance goals.
The process is quick and EZ, and can be done in the staging lanes, allowing you to correct for changing weather and track conditions right up to the moment you make a pass. Simply loosen the attaching nut with a socket, wrench, or nut driver, and pull off the retaining cover. Slide the current restrictor plate out, insert a new plate, replace the cover, and tighten the retaining nut. The entire process takes as little as 20 to 30 seconds. |
Depending on your application, each single restrictor plate change is equal to as little as .015 to .020 change in your E.T. Additional plate kits are available to allow you to run within any E.T. range desired, enabling you to easily run multiple classes in the same day with the same vehicle. Each plate is made to the highest tolerance for plate-to-plate accuracy, and plated for corrosion resistance and long service life. The restrictor plate retaining cover is made from a proprietary rubber compound for leak-free performance, and to stand up to intense engine compartment heat.
The proven design of the EZ-Plate system features an improved mixture flow over butterfly or aperture-style restrictors that have parts directly in the mixture flow path. This design makes any changes to your carb jetting or ignition timing unnecessary.
By removing the slide-in restrictor plate altogether, the system simply acts as an open spacer, allowing you to run your vehicle all out with no restriction, yet you're still able to limit the E.T. at a moment's notice when necessary by re-installing a restrictor plate.
Due to the endless combinations of race vehicle specifications, and a racer's E.T. target, each system and the accompanying restrictor plates are carefully selected by the knowledgeable staff at EZ-Plate Systems after consulting with you on your desired goals. This insures that you get the system you need to do what you want.
